Fine Arts Club Enjoys Theatrical Production At The Gaillard
Written by High School Choir Director Alysia Lambert

The PCA Fine Arts Club recently had a very enriching field trip. Students traveled to the Charleston Gaillard Center to see the Virginia Repertory Theatre's production of the musical, Ellis: Island of Dreams. Afterwards, the students toured the outdoor sculpture garden at the Riverfront Park in North Charleston.

Below are some reactions about the musical from the students in attendance:
"I learned that it doesn't just take one person to do a set change. That when everyone pitches in, it gets the job done quickly." - Bennett Velasquez
"This play engaged me and made me think about about the lives of immigrants and why they came to America. It also made me want to know more about their lives and orgins." - Abby Warburton
"It was an amazing musical that showed the lives of immigrants on Ellis island. I learned of the hardships and trials on some of our ancestors." - Hannah Christman
"I thought that the performers brought the life of an immigrant into real life connection." - Lukas Gawryluk
"The point behind this production was inevitably useful information to have. Underneath the glamour of a stage production, it was a good reminder of just how lucky we are to be living out our own stories in the greatest country in the world." - Shelby Muirhead
"I loved that there were only six cast members but it felt like there were a lot more between the number of characters and the massive amount of sound that came from just the few individual voices. The characters were also very well rounded for having to fit 4 character backgrounds into one single hour period."
- Anissa Watson

Kindergartners Fill Board With Prayers And Praises

Students in Miss Caroline Graham's Kindergarten class have become quite the prayer warriors! During the season of Lent, Headmaster JD Zubia had encouraged our faculty to use the 40 days leading up to the death and resurrection of Christ as a time to engage our students in behaviors to become more Christ-like. Miss Graham decided to focus on 40 days of prayer and her class filled a board with more than  two hundred prayers and praises!
Preschoolers Put A Spring In Their Step With Spring Fling
Written by Preschool Teacher Patty Biggerstaff

The Preschoolers enjoyed PCAP's Annual Spring Fling last Friday. Perhaps you saw the large inflatable slide and bounce house in the parking lot!  Each preschool class, from the two-year-olds to the four-year-olds, had an opportunity to slide and jump. Many rocketed down the slide with howls of delight. Some four-year-old classes were decked out in custom tie dye shirts made in class for the celebration. The children were not the only ones who enjoyed the experience. Many preschool teachers were seen jumping and sliding as well!  The celebration did not end there. To help cool off from all the jumping, the children enjoyed popsicles and were treated to a pizza lunch courtesy of PCAP.  What a great way to celebrate spring!

PCA Bike Rack Relocated To Improve Safety

If your student rides his or her bike to school, there is a new place to park those wheels. In order to best accommodate the safety of our students, the bike rack has been relocated to the right side of the crosswalk at the right corner of the playground. You can see exactly where it's located here in the picture. Those who use it should park bikes in the rack in the morning upon arrival and cross the parking lot via the crosswalk to enter the building. Upon departure at the close of day, bicycle riders should utilize the crosswalk again to safely cross to the bicycle rack. Thanks so much for your cooperation! We want to keep our students safe!
