LOS ANGELES SUPERIOR
PROBATE CHANGES TO JUDICIAL ASSIGNMENTS
Los Angeles Superior, Probate will implement the following changes to courtroom operations at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse:
Effective January 22, 2018:
- Judge Daniel Juarez is reassigned to Dept. 67
Effective January 29, 2018:
- Judge Robert Wada is reassigned from Dept. 424 at Edelman Children's Courthouse to Central Probate at Stanley Mosk, Room 243C. Judge Wada will provide coverage for probate judicial officers as required, as well as conduct settlement conferences.
Effective January 31, 2018:
- Judge Barbara R. Johnson is reassigned from Dept. 57 to Dept. 11
- Judge Elizabeth Lippitt is reassigned from Dept. W at Van Nuys East Courthouse to Dept. 57 at Stanley Mosk Courthouse
Counsel and parties are instructed to identify the assigned judicial officer and department on the first page of all documents filed with the clerk, beneath the case number, to ensure proper departmental assignment, calendaring of hearings, and the distribution of documents.

Effective January 2, 2018:
- Commissioner Stephen M. Lowery was reassigned to Dept. 2F at the CCW Courthouse
- Commissioner Armando Duron was reassigned to the Compton Courthouse, Dept. M
Effective January 18, 2018:
- Judge Joshua Wayser is reassigned to Dept. 27 at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse
- Judge Richard Burdge is reassigned to the Alhambra Courthouse, Dept. 3

COUNTY RECORDER
NEW $75 FEE FOR RECORDING EVERY REAL ESTATE INSTRUMENT, PAPER, OR NOTICE
Effective January 1, 2018, County Recorders began collecting an additional $75 for each real estate document recorded. The fee will be calculated per document.
Please adjust your checks with "DO NOT EXCEED AMOUNT" accordingly.

SANTA BARBARA SUPERIOR
ANNOUNCES INCREASE TO eFILING COST RECOVERY FEE
Effective January, 1, 2018, Santa Barbara Superior increased the MANDATED COURT / EFM FEE (collected by court) from $3.50 to $5.00 per eFiling envelope.

MONDAY, JAN. 15
Monday, January 15, 2018, Superior courts and Federal courts will be closed observing Martin Luther King Jr. Day. DDS Legal will be OPEN for eFiling on your own through DDS Legal certified EFSP portal, eFiling Concierge, Special On Demand call-in orders, Service of Process, and Daily Route service. If your office will be closed, please notify your daily-route representative so that we can make arrangements to not visit your locked office.
