Keeping you up to date on the many ways Beverly Bootstraps provides critical resources to families and individuals so they may achieve self-sufficiency.
Career and College Readiness helps overcome barriers.
Julie* continues to find herself in the challenging situation of not making enough to pay all her bills,  but making too much to qualify for substantial government assistance. She also has been denied disability-- even though physically she can only handle part-time work due to chronic back and hip problems. She is further limited by her lack of computer literacy.

Julie came to us to help her find an appropriate full-time job that would help improve her financial situation. It is nearly impossible to apply for a job on paper anymore, so our first goal with to teach her some basic computer skills. Together, we made an email account and created a resume. She was then able to apply for numerous jobs.

She recently got a full-time retail job and is now in a much more comfortable situation. People need to be able to navigate computers to do the most basic things these days and without Beverly Bootstraps College and Career Readiness program's help, Julie would still be stuck coming up short every month.

Exciting News:

Spring Showers bring Sunday Hours
at the  Thrift Shop
For extra convenient spring time shopping and donating, the Beverly Bootstraps Thrift Shop will be open on Sundays from 12-4pm, this Sunday, 5/14 through June 25, excluding Memorial Day weekend.

How you can help:

It's change of wardrobe season...
When doing spring cleaning and changing over to your spring/summer wardrobes, please consider donating anything that won't fit this year to the Thrift Shop. For a list of what we do and don't accept, please click here. And if you find anything that's not in re-sellable condition, you can drop it in the textile collection bins on all the Beverly Public School properties. Click here for what can be donated there.

Graduating seniors - are you done with
your graphing calculators?
If you are done with those expensive calculators you need in high school, please consider donating it to Beverly Bootstraps. We can get it to a student who couldn't otherwise afford their own through our Back-to-School Bonanza program.
