Volunteers Needed for Kasota Ponds Clean Up

Credit Nick Busse MWMO
This year at Kasota Ponds clean up, we had 50+ volunteers come help protect and preserve this wetland area.  We picked up dozens of bags of trash around all four ponds in the area over several hours with the help of volunteers from all ages.

We owe a huge thank you to some of our community partners on this effort. Thank you to NAPA Autoparts for helping with the clean up! Thank you to the Mississippi Watershed Management Organization for bringing staff to  photograph our efforts and collect water samples for analysis. Thank you to the Hampden Park Co-op and Colossal Cafe for donating food for the event!

Thank you also to Margot Monson (pictured below) for coming to educate us about the insects and animals in the area. Finally, thank you to our Environment Committee for planning and executing this every year!

We're excited to continue and expand our work on preserving this important wetland. Stay tuned for more information!
