THIS WEEK AT THE CHAMBER,  January 10

As a tourist destination, the Wood River Valley's economy is dependent on our visitors coming and having a great experience and each of us is responsible, to some degree, to help. For example, the holiday season is a popular time for people to fly in or drive in to our pretty, little valley hoping to see a winter wonderland.

In an effort to boost everyone's participation in helping the Valley get festive, The Chamber is releasing the results of our first annual Holiday Lights Report Card to highlight the towns and business communities in our Valley and how well they stepped up to help make this a very festive Christmas season.

Holiday Lights Report Card 2017

City of Bellevue - Grade C.
Bellevue Business Community - Grade B - special mention to High Country Motel.

City of Hailey - Grade A
Hailey Business Community - Grade C - remember, we can't let the city do all the work. Main Street Looks great, but that's not a reason to not dress up your spot.

City of Ketchum - Grade B
Ketchum Business Community - Grade B+ - there were several great displays of lights.
Honorary mention to the large tree on Sun Valley Road - what a sight. We are told that this tree is taller and has more lights on it than the tree in Rockefeller Center.

City of Sun Valley - Grade C
Sun Valley Company - Grade A - well done this year. There was even a chair you could sit in, made entirely out of ice. That is some pretty cool detail.

And the winner of our Ketchum Business Holiday Competition is The Colonade - this building, on Sun Valley Road, houses Bellisimo and Gilman Contemporary. Our Secret Santa judges felt this building really represented the spirit of the season and had very nice displays whether you saw them at night or during the day.

Congratulations to The Colonade - the winner of this year's Ketchum Holiday Lights competition. We have some airline vouchers for you to use towards a couple tickets from Friedman Memorial Airport.

A special thanks to our friends at Visit Sun Valley for helping make this year's Holiday Lights Competition possible.
