What a night!

On Saturday, May 6, the Fleet held its first-ever Uncorking the Mysteries of Wine event.

Guests are still raving about how much fun they had. After cheering on their friends at the Wine Bottle Ring Toss and bidding on lots of fine wine and experiences, guests enjoyed duck confit and other delicious menu offerings paired with white pinot noir, rosé pinot noir and traditional pinot noir. As they awaited dessert, a rich chocolate dome paired with dessert wine, they generously participated in the live auction and raising the paddle for science.

Not only did guests have a great time, they made it possible for the Fleet to continue its important work of connecting people of all ages to the power and possibilities of science. Proceeds from the event will allow the Fleet to serve more youth and adults through programs in the community and at the Fleet Science Center that include: expanding the 52 Weeks of Science program into the neighborhood of Clairemont, funding BE WiSE overnight programs for middle school girls interested in STEM education, continuing to expand outreach programs to schools and supporting our Sharp Minds lecture series for seniors.

For a glimpse of where we are headed, please take a moment to view the Fleet's new video that debuted at the event. Click here.

To those who joined us, thank you for making the night a tremendous success.
If you weren't able to attend, I hope you will join us next year!

Warm regards,

Steve Snyder, Ph.D.
Chief Executive Officer
