We would like to recognize Paula Miller for the dedication and hard work that she has displayed in her outstanding career. Paula is a florist that has been working primarily in the Mt Airy Forest Arboretum for her career of now twenty eight years. She has a Bachelors of Science degree in horticulture from Purdue University. She has continued her education and also has a Masters in Business Administration degree from the University of Cincinnati.  Paula is responsible for the horticulture maintenance and improvement of the Arboretum grounds and floral displays at Oak Ridge and Maple Ridge Lodges. The Mt Airy Forest Arboretum is a collection of trees, vines and woody plants that are hardy in this area. The Arboretum gardens and displays attract people who want to see and enjoy large scale gardens and horticultural displays. Many of the trees and shrubs have now grown to mature size. Since these plants are all name tagged, visitors will be able to relate the mature trees and shrubs to smaller plants that they are looking to purchase.  It is estimated that 20,000 to 30,000 people visit the Arboretum annually. These visitors come to see the plants, have an enjoyable walk, relax, meditate, paint, draw and take pictures. Paula is a very organized, patient, dedicated and has an abundance of horticultural knowledge and skill.
