Living Our DPS Honoree

Lynn King-Jackson
Teacher, Marrama Elementary
Collaboration

"Lynn King-Jackson, a second-grade teacher at Marrama Elementary, lives the Shared Core Value of Collaboration. For the past four years, she has taught her students the importance of giving instead of receiving. Every year, Lynn collaborates with students and their parents to provide underprivileged families with gifts for Christmas. Gifts are donated to a local nonprofit organization to distribute to these families just in time for the holidays.

Since Lynn started the program four years ago, she has students from previous years come back to participate in the program. Ms. Lynn puts in a lot of effort to make this gift-giving a success. She allows her students to take full responsibility for their role in putting their gifts together and ensuring they are delivered on time."

-- Merida Fraguada, Marrama Elementary
