BOYS NIGHT IN
Wednesday, January 4th - Aztec Soccer once again started the new year with an evening of staff training.

"We had a lot of fun at our annual staff development evening once again this year" said Boys Director Andy Branton. "With the help of the 2002 and 2001 boys we were able to demonstrate to the staff the methodology in place at the club which included showing our coaches how technical or tactical training sessions can be progressed either side of the multiple small-sided games we incorporate in to each training session," Andy added.

Junior Boys Coordinator George Kaltsas said, "The boys staff training night was great learning experience that helped me understand how to better structure my training sessions." George continued, "as coaches we should always look towards developing ourselves and this provided further ideas that will help all Aztec Soccer players grow."

"We are so proud of the commitment and passion our staff team has for our club. Right now we have the largest group of staff working with our boys teams than at any other time in the clubs history. Each of them bring incredible energy and enthusiasm to every training session and we are now seeing each player become a reflection of this," Andy concluded.

Brian Schulz, (2003 NPL parent and North Reading Youth Soccer President) added, "I enjoyed the recent podcast and article published in the recent New England Soccer Journal. The piece highlighted the positive focus on player development within the club and the philosophy that growth begins with quality coaching and effective delivery to the Aztec players! It is clear that Aztec has embraced not only the commitment to player development but also recognizes that one of the most important aspects in achieving that consistent growth is by coaching development too. Not only are Aztec players continually challenged, but the Aztec coaches are inspiring as well and their passion is evident in their creative lesson plans and quality of training sessions."

Schulz continued, "It's awesome to watch the growth across the boys program and the recognition within the local soccer community who are embracing the Aztec culture of development for both players and their coaching staff! Truly a winning combination!"

Winter Skills Clinic - Photos & Update
December 27-29, 2017 - The Aztec Winter Break clinic was a great chance to get out of the house, off the video games, and escape the Polar Vortex.

Players born 2005/06/07/08 worked on ball mastery, SAQ, and First touch. While the mornings were spent working on basic and specific coordination, the afternoons focused on combination play in the attacking third.

We look forward to February vacation's clinic and hope to have even more players in attendance for the Aztec 6v6 "World Cup"!
