2018 - New Leadership,
New Opportunities

It's a new year and season of change at your Williamston Area Chamber of Commerce. We have so much planned for our members and community in the next year, but first wanted to share some news about the Chamber and its board of directors.

First, I am sad to say that I have reluctantly resigned as Executive Director of the Williamston Chamber due to unforeseen circumstances with my business that has forced me to leave Williamston and move back to the Detroit area.  This was certainly not in the cards when I took this job over last year and I'm going to miss the many wonderful people I've met in my short time in town. Serving as Executive Director was not a job but a labor of love for a community that I quickly adopted and will continue to be part of.  For the foreseeable future I will still handle the weekly newsletter, website and social media for the Chamber, but we are passing the management of the organization on to two very capable sets of hands.

First, Tammy Scott, a long time board member and a community fixture, will handle the day-to-day as our new Executive Director. As always, you can reach her through the Chamber email address at [email protected].  Secondly, Bruce Weber who local residents see on a regular basis as the Store Director of D&W Fresh Market, will assume the role of Board Chair.  I am excited and confident these changes will ensure that the Chamber will not miss a beat and continue to grow on what was accomplished in 2017.
There are a lot of changes ahead as well for our events and mixers.  First, we will be moving our Chamber Mixers to some new times to make it easier for our local businesses and members to attend. First, will be an evening event in February at the Depot featuring some great advice and insight on how to safeguard your business from internet viruses and predators. More information coming soon.  In March, our mixers will move to mornings at 7:30 with free coffee and donuts and an opportunity for you to share what's going on with your business.
