Dear Parents:

We trust that this note finds you well. We are grateful to the רבש"ע for our most successful school year to date and look forward to an equally successful conclusion, בע"ה. We are writing to you about the school schedule for the upcoming Shavuos period.

When this year's calendar was originally formulated, we had intended to include the Friday attached to Shavuos as part of the Shavuos recess, inasmuch as it is sandwiched between the late ending Yom Tov and immediately subsequent Shabbos, and in any case would require a late start. However, because this would have left us short of our State mandated, minimum number of planned school days, we were compelled to schedule school for the day. We are writing to inform you that, now that the mild winter has left us with extra school days beyond the required count, we have decided that we will in fact include the aforementioned Friday in the Shavuos break.

All of us in the administration appreciate that there are many weighty factors at play in the schedules of the lives of Bais Yaakov families. We know, as well, that the needs of Bais Yaakov families often vary greatly from one another. This calendar matter was examined with an exceeding degree of care and deliberation from all angles, and we came to the conclusion that the above is indicated as an appropriate course for our school to follow. We hope that overall, it will enhance the Shabbos and Yom Tov ruach of Bais Yaakov families.

We express our sincerest appreciation for the opportunity and zechus of partnering with you in the chinuch of the wonderful children of our community, and we value your continued loyalty and commitment to Bais Yaakov. Thank you for your attention to the above, and please accept our sincerest wishes for a חג שמח.
