2017: Year in Review  Part II
Dear Neighbor,

In 2017 our ward processed over 23,000 311 inquiries, as well as funded over $1 million in "menu" funded infrastructure improvements, and significant city capital expenditures.

18 blocks repaved , including: 
- Halsted from Fullerton to Wrightwood
- Lill from Halsted to Lincoln
- Altgeld from Halsted to Racine
- Montana from Lincoln to Racine
- Webster from Larrabee to Fremont
- Burling from Webster to Belden
- Seminary from Fullerton to Lill
- Stone from Division to Goethe

Extended bus stops  on Inner Lake Shore Drive, and corrected markings on LaSalle and the Inner Drive, making it safer to drive and easier to get off the bus.

Installed 43 in-road pedestrian crossing signs.

Eight blocks of new LED streetlights  with new underground infrastructure:
- Sheffield from North to Armitage
- Lincoln Park West from Clark to Fullerton
- Orchard from Willow to Armitage

110 Alley light repairs,  installations and alley lights replaced
258 Street light repairs

Four Alleys repaved,
including:

-  A new green paver alley built behind  1936 N Clark and  1900 N Lincoln Park West.  

- Alleys resurfaced on State, Scott, Webster, and Goethe.


 
Division Pedway renovation 
included new light fixtures,  upgrading  wattage, concrete repairs, drain repairs, painting, graffiti coatings and improved signage - and a new mural.

Overview of the 23,604 total 311 requests processed for our Ward:
  • 220 blue recycle cart replacements, 349 black cart replacements, 2303 Graffiti removals, 1194 rodent baiting services, 648 sign repairs,  and 836 Street & Alley potholes.
  • 100 Tree plantings, 181 tree trims, and 84 tree removals. 
  • Over 12,500 feet of new water main lines132 catch basin/outlets repairs and cleanings, and seven sewer main repairs.
  • New landscaping installed along Fullerton Avenue at Racine  
  • Eleven concrete bus pads added, and one Bus Shelter relocation.
  • Ten concrete Alley Apron replacements.
Office Closed in Observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day 

The 43rd Ward Office will be closed on Monday, January 15, 2018 in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.  Our office will reopen on Tuesday, January 16 at 9:00 a.m.
