Rough Cut Screening of
A Castle in Brooklyn, King Arthur
Saturday, May 27th, 1-4pm

Please join us this Saturday for a special "Rough Cut" screening of A Castle in Brooklyn, King Arthur, a documentary featuring Beacon resident and friend of the library Arthur Wood. The film is a is a Nouvelle Vague style documentary that was shot over a period of nine years by filmmaker, Tyler A. Chase. It is the inside story of the iconic building called Broken Angel and it's creators, Arthur & Cynthia Wood, as the elderly couple fight for their home of twenty seven years against unprecedented eviction tactics (preemptive forced eviction.) Their story is as magical as it is heart wrenching as these artists defend a symbol of the bohemian artistic culture that once permeated New York City. A discussion with the filmmaker will follow the screening.
