Team DPS educators and students joined Superintendent Tom Boasberg at last year's Marade.
Join Team DPS at Monday's Marade to honor Dr. King
Please consider joining Team DPS as we march in support of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. during the Marade Monday, Jan. 15 in downtown Denver. Superintendent Tom Boasberg and Denver school board members participate in the parade and celebration each year. We encourage you to join us in marching behind the DPS banner!

Team DPS will be meeting at 9:15 a.m. at the East High School main entrance steps facing City Park Esplanade and then walking over to the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. memorial. The program begins at 9:30 a.m. and the marade will step off to downtown at 10:45 a.m. (Not up for the 9:15 a.m. start? Feel free to join us in City Park before 10:45 a.m. -- just look for the DPS banner.) Wear comfy shoes as it's the equivalent of walking a 5K!

Please post photos of the day using #TeamDPS and we'll make sure they're shared on our main DPS channels. Click here for all of the information you need, including day-of communication resources. Or, to learn more, visit the official website http://www.drmartinlkingjrchc.org/index.php/marade or email Laci Gettings on the CELT team at [email protected]. Hope to see you there!
This Week's Top 5 Things to Know
Complete CollaboRATE This Week - Your Voice Matters!
CollaboRATE -- DPS' all-employee engagement survey -- is now live, and you should have received an email from K12 Insight with a survey link to take it. If you haven't already, please take some time between now and Jan. 12 to complete the survey -- it should take only about 15 to 20 minutes. This is an opportunity to share your voice about how we're doing in DPS as a whole, as well as give feedback about your principal, assistant principal, dean and, if applicable, Senior/Team Leads. All information shared is anonymous, and the survey can now be taken on your mobile phone. For more information, visit thecommons.dpsk12.org/collaborate.
Indicate Student Learning Objectives for LEAP Evaluation
Teachers who have initiated two Student Learning Objectives (SLOs), with at least one that includes more than 10 students, may remove one SLO from use in LEAP evaluation by March 1. This decision should be discussed with your school leadership at the LEAP mid-year conversation before being entered to the SLO Application (directions here).

Teachers are required to complete one SLO with a minimum of 10 students, although completing two is recommended. All specialized service providers (SSPs) and teachers with fewer than 10 students in their SLOs must complete two SLOs. Deadlines for end-of-year SLO expectation-level data are set by school leaders, generally in late April or early May. Email [email protected] if you have questions.
