Winter Brainstormers Offerings at Cherokee
Lakeside Speech Festival
Lisa Weaver (Thursdays, January 18 - February 22)
Each year students starting in Grade 2 have had the opportunity to participate in the Lakeside Speech Festival. This unique opportunity rotates in location between Deer Path Middle School and Highland Middle School in Libertyville. This year the festival will be held at Highland Middle School on Saturday, February 24, 2018. It is a wonderful opportunity to have students prepare and memorize short pieces of their choice, approximately 3 minutes, and have the opportunity to perform those in front of judges. Parents are encouraged to attend. Students may choose who is present during their speech performance.
Brainstormers has offered a preparation class for students in grades 2-4 where students can work with a teacher and have the opportunity to practice their piece in front of their peers. Students can do a solo speech or perform with a partner.
Prep classes will begin next week however we do need at least 6 students to offer the class. Registration fees are included in the tuition.
