New Officials Institute Continues in June
Throughout the year OML provides an intensive educational program specifically tailored for newly elected and appointed officials as well as experienced officials who want to keep up-to-date on municipal issues. An officer is defined in 11 O.S. Section 1-102. The June Institutes will be he ld June 8th in Oklahoma City at the Francis Tuttle Center, Rockwell location and June 15thin Tulsa at the Tulsa Tech, Lemley Campus. The two June classes will be your last opportunity to fulfill your requirements for this fiscal year.

OML is now accepting nominations for the Innovations Award.  The Innovations Award recognizes municipal officials and staff of OML member cities and towns for their superior innovative efforts. This award is dedicated to those involved with their local government are progressive, caring, and committed to their community. 
 
Nominations are also being accepted for the Don Rider Award. The Don Rider Award was first established in 1988 recognizing outstanding individuals who have made significant contributions to their community as well as their profession through personal growth and involvement. 
 
The Mayors Council of Oklahoma (MCO) is accepting nominations for the Mayor of the Year award. The two Mayor of the Year award recipients are recognized for their continued dedication and vision for their individual communities. The awards are given to one municipality of 5,000 or more and one municipality of less than 5,000 in population.
  
These awards will be presented at the annual OML Conference in September. Nominations will be accepted until Friday, July 14, 2017.

Sign Up To Be In Our Certified Municipal Official Program
Managing today's cities and towns is a complex endeavor further challenged by the continual advances in technology. Municipal officials and employees need a tremendous amount of knowledge to run a municipality. With this in mind, OML offers a Certified Municipal Official Program. The purpose of this program is to recognize officials and employees who continue to develop their skills and enrich their expertise in local government. This is a voluntary program available to all municipal officials and employees. Save the Date for the Mayors Council Of Oklahoma Summer Conference July 20-22
The Mayors Council of Oklahoma (MCO) will host the summer conference in Idabel July 20, 21, and 22, 2017. The annual event provides mayors, vice-mayors and their families an opportunity to experience the best the hosting city has to offer, as well as training and networking opportunities. Idabel Mayor Tina Foshee-Thomas will organize the conference and has tremendous plans for those in attendance.  Thursday morning is reserved for the MCO and OML Board of Directors' meeting followed by a golf scramble. On Friday, participants will take in one of the wonderful tours that the City of Idabel has to offer. Rotating roundtable sessions with hot topics to stimulate the discussion are planned.
