Seeking Renewal and Wellness as
We Prepare to Return H
ome

Greeting to you from Holy Spirit's Rectory!  I am working from home today because I am on day four of having the flu.  From what I understand from the news report about the ineffectiveness of the flu shot this year and the aggressive strain we are faced with, you may also be at home reading this for the same reason.  If not, please make sure to take some vitamin C.  All that said, I am feeling better, taking Tamiflu, and will be outside of the contagious window by next Sunday.  So, if you are feeling ok, I look forward to seeing you then!

While much of the time with an illness is spent sleeping, there is also a lot of time spent thinking about the things you wish you could be doing.  It has helped that I was able to doze on the couch with the NFL playoffs on, but still, it has been an interesting moment to step back and think about all the things God is doing in our church home.   On February 11 at 5:30, Bishop Doyle will be joining us to dedicate our newly renovated Nave, bathrooms, parlor, and reworked choir loft.  This is going to be very exciting and I hope you can join us!

Then that following week we will have our Shrove Tuesday pancake supper that is tentatively scheduled at an exciting new venue this year (details to come once finalized).  Lent will start on the 14th and our Lenten Sermon series and programmatic theme "Coming Back Home: Lent 2018" will be a chance for us to explore all the ways God brings us home Spiritually through the work of Lent, for our church, physically by returning to our sanctuary, and for many of our families, literally as we continue to rebuild.  It will be a deeply moving walk toward Easter.  We have lots of extra events and many baptisms that will follow.  You can see why I have been wishing I could get back to working on all these things.

I pray you are feeling ok and I look forward to the journey ahead.

See you in church,
Joshua Condon signature

These "Talks" short monologues by people who are experts in their field on really interesting subjects.
