Good To Know Winter Weather Safety Tips!

As several storm systems are likely to collide in the next couple months, we're reminded that winter weather is still upon us. If you find yourself stuck in the snow with your vehicle over the next few weeks, use the following preparedness tips to stay safe.

  • Stay with your vehicle. Do not try to walk to safety.
  • Tie a brightly colored cloth (preferably red) to the antenna for rescuers to see.
  • Start the car and use the heater for about 10 minutes every hour. Keep the exhaust pipe clear so fumes won't back up in the car.
  • Leave the overhead light on when the engine is running to help rescuers see the vehicle.
  • Keep one window away from the blowing wind slightly open to let in air.
Annual
GLSTC 2018 Annual Meeting - Save The Date

Mark your calendar to join GLSTC on Wednesday, March 14, 2018, from 5 pm - 8 pm for our Annual Meeting!  You do not want to miss our keynote speaker, Mike Schlappi.

Mike's story is a moving and powerful example of the importance of safety. At the age of 15 Mike was shot in the chest, by a friend, at point blank range; paralyzing 2/3 of his body. Mike faces challenges daily because of the split second decision that was made in regards to safety or the lack thereof. His compelling message changes the way people think about carelessness and the magnitude of their decisions in the work place.
