CLASSIFIED SCHOOL EMPLOYEE WEEK MAY 22-29
So who are our classified employees that we will honor this week? They are the glue that holds Peninsula High together. Without them, Peninsula High could not function. Classified employees are the secretaries who greet you with a smile each day and answer our phones. They are the ones behind the scenes tending to our fields and landscape, securing our school, cleaning our classrooms, fixing our facilities, setting up for events, checking out textbooks, helping us in computer labs, collecting our money, paying our bills, ordering our buses for events, preparing our lunches, and so much more. Every aspect of Peninsula High is impacted
by a classified school employee. Classified school employees play crucial roles in education to ensure that our school operates smoothly. So please take a moment during Classified Employee Week this week to say thank you to our classified employees.
ARTS THURSDAY
FILM FESTIVAL, THEN STUDENT ART SHOW OPENING
NEW STUDENT ART GALLERY AT PEN
Since its opening in January, the art department has been celebrating the addition of the Bradbury-Smith Gallery to the Peninsula campus. The Bradbury-Smith Gallery, named after former long-time Peninsula art educators David Bradbury and Pat Smith, serves as a space to showcase student artwork from the drawing & painting, photography, ceramics, and glass-blowing classes. The art department invites all members of the community to attend the opening of the annual Student Art Show in the gallery this Thursday, May 25, 5-7 PM.
In past years, the art show was held off site, making it difficult for the Pen student body to see the artwork of their peers. This onsite gallery makes the show accessible to everyone. Thank you to Mr. Karg, Mr, Meade, Ms. Nyman, Mr. Stiles, and Art Department Chair Seth Cohen for making this dream a reality.
STUDENT FILM FESTIVAL - THURSDAY AT 4 PM
The 3rd Annual PVPHS Student Film Festival is Thursday, May 25 at 4pm in the PAC. Come see the best of what our Digital Media students have created this year. Tickets are $5 at the door and support the Digital Media programs here at PVPHS. Students from Video Production, Digital Animation and Graphic Design compete for the coveted Panther D'Or Award.
