Dear SCA Advisor:
I hope you have had a successful school year and you are gearing up for a well deserved summer break. I wanted to send out the 2017-2018 VSCA Membership Application before school ends next month.
During the past year, the VSCA and the VSCA Advisory Committee hosted Regional Workshops throughout the state, an Advisor Workshop, an Elementary and Middle School Student Leaders Workshop, and our culminating event - the VSCA State Convention. This year our VSCA State Convention had over 530 delegates. Our largest number in a decade! We are also gearing up to send a 24 person Virginia Delegation to the National Association of Student Councils Convention. It has been a great year for VSCA, mostly because of our current membership. Each of you has served as an ambassador to the organization. We truly appreciate you taking the time to tell non-member schools how much you have benefited from your membership.
The VSCA is always here to provide you with support to help improve your SCA, networking opportunities with other advisors, and training to enhance the skills of the student leaders in your school. We hope that we can count on you for the members-only VSCA State Convention in the spring of 2018. It is a great opportunity for your students to meet with the Virginia Board of Education, hear inspiring keynote speakers, and work on a statewide service project. It is a powerful experience to see the students from across the commonwealth exchanging ideas, inspiring one another, and becoming great leaders!
I hope that you will consider having your school renew their Virginia Student Councils Association membership. Not only will you have access to our network of peers, resources, and reduced rates to all of the events that VSCA sponsors, your school will become a part of the oldest state student councils organization in the United States.
