Good Afternoon ,

Last month, I expressed my real hope that in 2017 the club will see a tangible increase in 'event activities' after our initiative last year to create Regional Chapters. Well as they say, 'the proof is in the pudding' and with no less than seven events below we are pleased to report it must be working.

Ace Cafe brings money raised to a whopping £4,450
Thanks to you, in the last few years our little club has raised £4,450 for CLIC SARGENT the club's chosen charity. This is an amazing amount of cash and will help the children get the support they need. Read more

Two new events to attend

Yorkshire Figaro Rally's almost here
Excitement is reaching fever pitch as 120 members prepare their cars for the rally of all rallies which kicks off in a couple of weeks. We have organised a drone over the 3 days to capture both video and snap-shots of the truly amazing sight. After all, it's not often you'll see 60 Figs making their way up, down and all around God's Own Country!

Replacement of 'trailing arm bushes' greatly improves handling
Last week The Figaro Shop replaced the old rubber bushes on 'Figgy' for a new polyurethane type. The difference in handling is simply astounding with the car now feeling 'firmer' and holding the road whilst cornering. The old excessive roll (jelly feel) has completely gone, it really feels like a different car. We will be a writing a full report with fitting cost & pictures in our June Figgyworld Magazine in the meantime there are some pictures below.

New Polyurethane Bushes replace the old Rubber ones
Lastly, apologies for the delay in publishing this Newsletter. Sue and I were away a week or so ago and have been playing catch-up ever since!

Have a great weekend and we'll catch you

Me and Sue getting ready for the Yorkshire Figaro Rally!
next month :)

MIDLANDS - ANDY HENNELL
Looking at doing something around Malvern and Ledbury but still early days.

SOUTH EAST ENGLAND - SHIRLEY AXFORD
A Drive Through Time in Bognor on 16th July
just a reminder to let me know when you've booked else you won't be positioned with the club. Also for those that intend to come but haven't yet booked, the last date for applications is 6th June.

SCOTLAND - KEN GRAHAM

Tayside Classic Car Show - Sunday 11th June
Chapter member Vron Wooton noticed this event on Sunday 11th June, so after a wee bit of research we have a car club stand arranged with seven Figaros signed up already - there's no real limit on cars, so I'm happy to take bookings right up to 8th/9th June. You will probably not be listed in the programme as a late entrant but that's only important if you want to be 'judged'! Cost is minimal at £3 per car (including passengers) so I'll collect cash on the day from those coming along.

Ayrshire Drive Out - Sunday 25th June
Info to follow - email coming out soon!!

ABOUT THE CLUB
Our Mission Statement
"To provide comprehensive advice and information to both present and future owners (in addition to having lots of fun in the process) and to ensure these wonderful cars and their providence is preserved for the next generation of owners"

Daniel after collecting 'Figgy'
outside our house on June 2008
How the club started
My son Daniel had always wanted a Figaro, having seen the car at our local garage when he was just 16. After saving for a number of years (plus a small contribution from his mum and dad) he brought an Emerald Green model in June 2008.

Following the purchase we scoured the internet for a members club in the hope that we could attend events with other owners, but were amazed that none existed...and so the Figaro Owners Club was born!  We decided to build a website and forum which took 6 months, and on the 1st March 2009 we pressed the 'publish button' and waited to see if anyone wanted to join. Within a week we had 10 members, a month 35 and a year 478 members.

Today the club has around 1,600 members worldwide in countries including New Zealand, Japan, Australia, USA, Canada, Germany, Spain, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Sweden and many more.
We are grateful to you and all our other members for help and encouragement throughout our journey as the club has grown into a passion which has taken over our lives - we FIGure in a good way.
Warmest Regards
