The recent 90-degree days have caused quite a bit of excitement in the school building. Hot weather is a sure sign and reminder that summer break is around the corner.

End of the Year ABC Countdown Continues On
As a fun way of celebrating the last weeks of school, we are doing an "End of the Year ABC Countdown." Each school day has a different activity depending on the letter of the day. Your child may need to bring certain things on various days. This year we are dedicating our ABC Countdown to Mr. Vandercar! This sheet (

Amazing Stories of Sharing
There are so many things that our students do in unique and wonderful ways, and I would like to highlight some of the events that have already occurred, as well as share those great events yet to come!

Join Us for the 9th Annual Cancer Walk
We have kicked off our campaign for the 9th Annual Cancer Walk for American Cancer Society! The walk will take place the last day of school on Wednesday, June 7 from 9:00-11:00am and students in grades 5, 6, and 7 will use the Pleasant Dale Park District track across the street. Students are raising money for the fundraiser and last year, students collected over $16,000! Families are invited to attend and join in on the ceremony of honoring and remembering loved ones who have had their lives affected by cancer. If you are a survivor, please notify [email protected]. Survivors will be leading the first lap and then everyone walks/runs for an hour.

Login to your Skyward Family Access www.d107.org account and complete the registration steps for each child. Please make sure you click "completed" after each step. You will not be allowed to go to the next step unless you have completed the prior step. If you are not returning to the district next year, please let your school office know!

Still Time to Register for Summer Sports Camps!
All Pleasantdale District 107 Summer Sports Camps are held at Pleasantdale Middle School and spots are still available.
If your child is interested in basketball, volleyball or cross country, be sure to check out Pleasantdale's summer sport camps!
All interested students should turn in their completed registration form and payment to their school office by May 31 to guarantee a camp t-shirt.

2017 Supply Kit Order Forms Available
The
time has come to order SCHOOL SUPPLIES for the 2017-2018 school year!!
Order now and save yourself time and the aggravation of having to go from store to store to store looking for the right supplies. Your purchase also benefits your Pleasantdale PTA, so it's a win-win!!
Click on the links below to find the Elementary or the Middle school. You will find the price and the account number for your child's particular school.
Order by June 9th as that is when the online store closes and we cannot accept any late orders.
Your child's school supplies will be delivered to Pleasantdale in August for you to pick up. Remember to order the grade level your child will be in in the fall!

Change of Venue for Adult Social on May 26th
The Farewell Party to show appreciation for Principal Matt Vandercar and Principal John Glimco will now be at Imperial Oak Brewing, 501 Willow Blvd in Willow Springs. Same date and same start time - next Friday, May 26th at 4pm.
No need to RSVP or send a check into the schools, just show up and share a beer with Matt & John and their families and enjoy food from the outdoor Food Trucks. The decision was made to move the venue to make it easier for all to come - and the weather forecast for next Friday, 5/26, looks fabulous - Imperial Oak has an outdoor area for sitting and playing bags "cornhole."
For those of you that did send checks into school, they have not been cashed and will be returned to you that night - the PTA apologizes for the hassle and the last minute change. Everyone attending can pay cash, or credit for only what they eat and/or drink once there.
Hope to see everyone next Friday, May 26th, at 4 pm or after at Imperial Oak Brewing in Willow Springs!! CHEERS!!!

8th Grade Dinner Dance Sponsorships
The 8th Grade Dinner Dance will be held on Monday, June 5th from 5:30-10pm at Capri Banquets in Countryside. This year's theme for the Dinner Dance is "NEON BEACH NIGHTS." If you are interested in sponsoring anything for the event, please review the attached letter and notify the 8th grade team via email at [email protected], indicating which item you would like to sponsor. Some examples of sponsorship items are:
- Memory Booklet
- Neon and Beach Accessories
- Sweet Table goodies - Candy, Desserts, Fruit Tray, Snacks
- Photo Booth
- Class Picture
- DVD, cases and labels - for a compilation of pictures throughout the school year.
