Congratulations to the IWL Leadership Scholars Class of 2017
Highlights From a Remarkable Year
Celebrating Alison's life at a moving memorial ceremony and carrying forward her legacy through the Alison R. Bernstein Media Mentoring Program.

IWL's hosted the world premiere screening of From the Boarding House to the Board Room: 250 Years of Women at Rutgers produced by award-winning filmmaker and Laurie Chair June Cross.

Brought inspiring women journalists, scholars, and advocates to campus to speak at the two-day event, The New Normal? Women, Media, and Politics, the first public program of the Gloria Steinem Initiative in Media, Culture, and Feminist Studies. The live-streamed panels reached 9,900 viewers!

WINGS students joining their Wells Fargo Mentors at New York Common Pantry for a day of Giving Back in November. 

78 donors giving more than $30,000 to support IWL on National Day of Giving, getting us near the top of the Rutgers leader board!

An anonymous donor stepping up and pledging a challenge gift of $250,000 to the Gloria Steinem Endowed Chair if we raised $2,750,000 by May 31, 2017.  We are now within $135,000 of that goal.

Launching a campaign to create the Anita Ashok Datar Lecture in Women's Global Health.

Stellar workshops for women on executive presence, personal branding, public speaking, perfecting your pitch, financial empowerment, mediation and conflict negotiation.

And that's not all...
IWL forges new collaborations with the Office of Veteran and Military Programs and Services, Center for American Women and Politics, Margery Somers Foster Center, and Centers for Global Advancement and International Affairs.

Conducting a self-study for an historic IWL External Review. 

Students in the Gender and Media minor created 22 short documentary films about Women's Education and Leadership at Rutgers. 

The second Jessica L. Roberts Leadership Prize was awarded. 

This month, the 18th class of the Leadership Scholars Certificate Program graduated, joining a community of 265 alumni.
