Australia Day celebrations

Australia Day celebrations will return to Holroyd Gardens in 2018, bigger and better than Cumberland Council's inaugural event in 2017, which attracted more than 15,000 people.

Two amazing musicians are headlining a fun schedule...

- Triple J Unearthed's Thandi Phoenix; and
- 2015 X-Factor winner Cyrus

... culminating in an impressive fireworks display.

It will be a fair like atmosphere with  thrilling amusement rides, delicious food, awesome acts and family friendly fun, including Giant Garden Games where families can play jumbo versions of Connect Four, Jenga, Twister and more.

The event is free and will run from 5-9pm on Friday 26 January 2018.

Don't miss the perfect local event to celebrate Australia Day with your community.

Become a volunteer in 2018

Delivering meals to people's homes, driving a community bus so people can enjoy group outings, helping with everyday tasks like grocery shopping, assisting with Centre Based Groups, even stopping in for a visit or just having a chat over the phone - these small acts of kindness make a hugely positive difference in the lives of others.

Ultimately though, there's no better feeling than giving. We truly are richer for the experience. There is nothing more rewarding than knowing someone's day, week or even life is somehow better, easier or happier because you've been there for them.

If you're looking for a rewarding way to give back to the community, meet new people, develop new skills and gain work experience in the area of Aged and Disability Services, we want to hear from you.  Call 02 9636 8352 or email [email protected].

In 2017, there were more than 300 active volunteers in Cumberland Council programs and activities. Council thanks all volunteers for their valuable contribution to the community.

Cumberland Council has put a shout out for people who are looking for a rewarding way to give back to the community to volunteer their time to assist in the area of Aged and Disability Services.
