Robberson students to receive new shoes, thanks to Springfield senior
Every student at Robberson Community School will receive a new pair of shoes Friday, thanks to a Springfield senior.

Meredith Sharp, a senior at Greenwood High School, will distribute more than 250 pairs of new athletic shoes on Friday, May 19. Sharp founded a non-profit called Just for Kicks in 2016. She was inspired by her time working at Boys and Girls Club to donate a pair of shoes to every student at Robberson. More than 300 Robberson students last May received new shoes, thanks to Sharp's donations. Combined with this year's donation, her fundraising efforts to date have exceeded $20,000.

Sharp will distribute shoes to every Robberson student at 12 p.m. Friday, May 19, at Robberson Community School, located at 1100 E. Kearney St.

Every student in grades 9-12 who have 95 percent attendance or better were entered into a random drawing at their respective high school.  Students with 95-99 percent were entered into the drawing once and students with 100 percent attendance were entered twice.  Each high school selected five semi-finalists and those 25 individuals were entered into a final drawing with one student becoming the owner of a new car and the remaining 24 winning cash prizes.
