VIVACE MUSICAL SUNDAY, MAY 21

The VIVACE choir (grades 5-7) has a long-standing tradition of producing a musical each spring.  This year will  be no  different!  The musical "Holy Moses!" will be performed this Sunday, May 21, at 9:30 a.m and 11:00 a.m. in Calvary Hall.  Director Daren Stahl and musical director Shelley McKenzie  are very excited to be working with such a dedicated group of youngsters. Come and learn how Moses' life shows us how to walk with God and follow His commands. 


CUB SCOUT PACK 11 PLANT SALE

Come support your local cub scouts while adding color to your yard and getting a jump start on your garden with tomatoes, vegetables and herbs! The sale will be held this weekend, May 20 & 21  from 10 a.m. through 4 p.m. on the grassy lot directly across from the main parking lot. Flowers include pansies, geraniums, lobelia, impatiens and more! Hanging baskets and potted arrangements are also available. COMMISSIONING OF HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATES

On Sunday, May 28 at the 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. worship services, we will recognize and pray for our high school grads before sending them into the world - their personal mission field. 

If you or your child is graduating, please contact [email protected] with his/her name, high school, plans (if any) for next year (work, military, college name, major), and which worship service (if any) he/she will be attending on Sunday, May 28.


PARSONAGE OPEN HOUSE
 
Mike and Judy Claycomb want to say thank you for providing them a lovely home.  The Claycombs invite you to an Open House at the parsonage, 2620 Charney Road, University Heights from 12 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 28. 

Come and go as your schedules permit, but please know that all are welcome.  If you can stay a while, bring a lawn chair and we'll hope for fair weather.

SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
 
Calvary Scholarship:  The Church of the Saviour Foundation annually awards Calvary Scholarships to members of the church who are working on an undergraduate degree. Firm application deadline is June 1.
 
Margaret Knooihuizen Memorial Nursing Scholarship: This scholarship was established in memory of Margaret Knooihuizen, a member of Church of the Saviour who worked professionally in the nursing field. It was established in her memory as a scholarship to help others who are currently in, or entering, nursing programs. Scholarships range up to $1,000 maximum. Application deadline is June 1.



COMMUNITY INTEREST MEETING

Kiwanis Division 15 will host a meeting at Church of the Saviour on Monday, May 22 at 6:30 p.m.  in the Parlor. The purpose of the meeting is to seek community interest in relaunching the Cleveland Heights Kiwanis Club. PENTECOST & 
CONFIRMATION SUNDAY

We will celebrate Pentecost and Confirmation on Sunday, June 4 with an 8:30 a.m. service in Myers Chapel and a combined 10:30 a.m. service in the Sanctuary.  After the 10:30 a.m. service, come to the Great Hall for a "partial potluck."  Big Tent will supply sandwiches, water, lemonade, cake and tableware.  Please bring a side dish to share.  You may also bring red candy and/or red fruit to recognize the flame of the Spirit that blows within and around us.  Please also wear red if you so desire.


VOLUNTEER LEADERSHIP TRAINING

Volunteer In Mission (VIM) Leadership Training - The next training session will be held at Lakeside on Friday, June 16 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.  The deadline for registration is June 8. If you are considering a mission opportunity, scholarship money is available from the East Ohio Conference and COTS Global Missions.  


FAREWELL PICNIC  

We will celebrate the years of ministry that we have shared with Rev. Dianne Tobey Covault and Rev. Judy Wismar Claycomb with an all church picnic following the 11:00 a.m. worship service on Sunday, June 18. Staff Parish Relations Committee will provide picnic chicken, water, lemonade and tableware.  The congregation is asked to bring side dishes and desserts to share.

Rev. Judy Wismar Claycomb is retiring and Pastor Dianne Tobey Covault has been appointed to Christ UMC & Simpson UMC. We love them both, and they both love baseball.  Join us June 30 at 6:30 p.m. at Classic Park for a buffet picnic, baseball and fireworks as we celebrate the ministries of these two leaders who have given so much to helping us better know God through Jesus Christ.

This summer the Genevieve Seese Library is hosting a summer reading program from June 15 through August 15.
