  CHAMBER HONORS ARLINGTON'S BEST BUSINESSES
Seven area businesses named Best Business Award winners, two individuals inducted into Arlington Business Hall of Fame
Arlington, Va.  - On May 2, the Arlington Chamber of  Commerce  celebrated the 31st  Annual Arlington Best Business Awards  at the  Key Bridge Marriott Hote l , with an audience of nearly 200 business professionals from around the community.  The prestigious Best Business Awards are  presented to area businesses that consistently deliver exceptional quality of service to their customers, are industry leaders or offer a unique approach to delivery of goods or services,  achieve significant growth or stability over the lifetime of their business, and display an interest and concern for the success of the Arlington community. 

2017 Best Business Award winners were:

CNA - 2017 Business of the Year
Hyatt Centric Arlington - 2017 Business of the Year
Beach Geeks, LLC - 2017 Technology Small Business of the Year
Current Boutique - 2017 Retail Small Business of the Year
Child Care Aware of America - 2017 Nonprofit of the Year
Wolcott Hill Group - 2017 Home-Based Business of the Year
Clarendon Animal Care - 2017 Service Small Business of the Year

2017 Best Business Award Winners
"Our community depends upon the businesses that go above and beyond for clients, employees, and the community, and these seven businesses exemplify that kind of dedication," said Chamber President & CEO Kate Bates . "We are proud to present this year's winners with these well-deserved awards and thank all of them for their continued investment in Arlington."

Following the presentation of these awards, the Chamber inducted John G. Milliken and Richard V. Doud, Jr. into the Arlington Business Hall of Fame , which honors men and women with a connection to Arlington County who have demonstrated a long record of successful management, expertise, and business skills, along with notable achievements and exceptional civic and community involvement.

In accepting his award, Milliken said he felt "truly humbled and honored." He also thanked and recognized the Chamber, stating, "You really are the community in lots of different ways. You touch them because of the restaurants they go to, the playgrounds your children enjoy, and the local businesses that facilitate the lives of the more than 200,000 people who live in Arlington.  Central to Arlington's success, you provide the wherewithal to operate. I am here to thank you collectively for the role you play in the community we love!"

Doud , who served a s President of the Arlington Chamber for 23 years,  said that receiving this accolade was "rewarding," and thanked " the membership and the dedicated staff who have spent countless hours making [the Chamber] an outstanding organization." He also referenced current Chamber President & CEO Kate Bates as "just what the Chamber needed to accomplish the goals," adding that he missed with "the great folks who make this work so rewarding. Family - all of you!"

Bates said, "John and Rich are the true definition of what it means to be an Arlington legacy. Their many important accomplishments and efforts to support and advocate on behalf of local business have helped make Arlington the place it is today. It is an honor to induct both of these outstanding community leaders into the Arlington Business Hall of Fame."
