Library and TRIAD partner for senior safety series in June
Senior safety focus of National Safety Month series
FREDERICKSBURG, VIRGINIA, May 18, 2017 -  Central Rappahannock Regional Library (CRRL) will be joining the  National Safety Council  and thousands of organizations around the country to observe National Safety Month in June. National Safety Month's primary objective is to help keep our citizens safe at home, work, and out in the community. 

CRRL is partnering with  TRIAD  to focus on safety for seniors by hosting a series of practical workshopsTRIAD is a cooperative effort of law enforcement agencies, senior citizens, and community organizations interested in the welfare of seniors, concentrating on senior safety and reducing crimes against our most vulnerable citizens. Our local TRIAD serves Stafford County, Spotsylvania County, and the City of Fredericksburg. While the TRIAD Safety Series events are designed for seniors, all are welcome to attend.

Frauds and Scams Against Seniors
Thursday, June 8, 2:00-3:00 p.m.
England Run Branch 
The  Stafford County Sheriff's Department presents an informational session on avoiding scams and fraud.

Internet Safety for Seniors
Tuesday, June 13, 12:00-1:30 p.m.
 Salem Church Branch 
1st Sergeant Shaun Jones of the  Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office provides information on protecting your privacy and searching safely on the Internet.

Fall and Fire Prevention
Wednesday, June 14, 1:00-2:00 p.m.
  Snow Branch
1st Sergeant Shaun Jones presents the basics of fire safety and teaches eight simple tips to prevent devastating accidents from falls, empowering older adults to live independently at home for as long as possible.

Senior Safety
Tuesday, June 20, 10:00-11:00 a.m.
Porter Branch
1st Sergeant Darrell English, a Stafford County Sheriff's Office crime prevention specialist, provides information about home and shopping safety.

Let's Talk About RX
Thursday, June 29, 10:00-11:30 a.m.
Headquarters Library
Home Instead, Inc. presents an informational session on the potential health risks of managing an increasing number of prescription medications. Learn tricks to keep medications organized, avoid mistakes, and be prepared for an emergency.
