Hi there,

It's been awhile since you've seen me in your inbox.  I've been hard at work creating a new leadership video series that will be released early this summer. I have also faithfully been writing my weekly blog featuring leadership tips.

As you strengthen the bonds between the people you work with, you increase engagement and performance.  That's why it's sooo worth it to invest your time nurturing your relationships with your employees and making these practices we've shared in this series a part of how you lead.  The people I have trained and coached who use these techniques not only become better leaders, they become better humans well.

If you missed the blog here is a link where you can find nine different leadership actions you can take to build your relationships with people, increase engagement and become a more effective leader.  These are easy to use, proven techniques to:

#1 Increase  self-awareness so that you maximize the impact of your greatest strengths and identify blind spots that are holding you back.
#2 Connect with people to build trust, which is at the foundation of a strong relationship.
#3 Focus on communication, particularly how you communicate with your body and voice.
#4 Clarify expectations so people understand what they are doing and why there are doing it.
#5 Develop the talent, skills and knowledge of others to help them realize their full potential.
#6 Share feedback so people know where they stand and how they can grow and improve.
#7 Encourage the relationships between team members to support collaboration and accountability.
#8 Recognize and celebrate people's milestones and successes in a personal, meaningful way.
I'd love to hear how you build relationships with others and how it impacts your work and life, so leave me a comment.

Leadership, like life - is mostly a matter of paying attention. So make sure you pause and notice what is going on with your people and respond in ways that show them you care about them and have their best interest at heart.

We all have a leadership spark in us.  So ignite your flame, shine your light and make the world a better place.

In gratitude,
Janine
