Modernizing Medicine, Inc. recently announced that funds affiliated with
Warburg Pincus, a global private equity firm focused on growth investing, have made a substantial investment of $231 million into the company to provide liquidity to existing shareholders, fund further expansion and support future strategic endeavors.

Dr. Michael Sherling, Modernizing Medicine is at the forefront of providing intelligent, medical technology. The company's award-winning flagship product
EMA, is a mobile, cloud-based, specialty-specific electronic health record (EHR) system that is used by thousands of specialty practices nationwide.

Nova Southeastern University's Dr. H. Thomas Temple Named a Health Care Hero

The
Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce honored
H. Thomas Temple, MD, as a "Health Care Hero" at its 20th annual
Health Care Heroes Award ceremony, which was held
May 9, 2017 at Jungle Island in Miami. Dr. Temple, who is senior vice president of translational research and economic development for Broward County based
Nova Southeastern University (NSU), was the recipient of the Bio-Medical Award for his lifetime of work in this field.
"Dr. Temple is multidimensional-an inventor, a surgeon, a university administrator and a family man," said NSU President
Dr. George Hanbury, who nominated Dr. Temple for the award. "Through all of these roles, his goal is simple-to make a lasting impact on humanity."

Based in Dania Beach, the South Florida Healthcare Executive Forum (SFHEF) serves healthcare professionals in Monroe, Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties plus the Treasure Coast. The SFHEF is the local chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and currently boasts over 900 members.

URMALA ROOPNARINESINGH, MSHSA
Ms. Roopnarinesingh currently serves as the Campus College Chair for the
School of Health Services Administration at the
University of Phoenix in South Florida (headquartered in Broward County). Her role includes enhancing relationships between the university and the local healthcare community. Prior to accepting this position she instructed Health Administration courses at
Keiser University. She has held several senior executive positions in higher education in South Florida.
Ms. Roopnarinesingh is currently in the final stage of completing her PhD in Educational Leadership. She has earned a Master of Health Services Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and English Literature from the
University of the West Indies. She is a native of Trinidad and has lived in the United States for the past seventeen years. In addition, she is a member of the
American College of Healthcare Executives. She joined the association as a Health Services Administration graduate student, served as an officer in the student chapter and continued her membership which has contributed to her career success. She enjoys playing golf and traveling.
