EBCBOR Volunteers Make a Difference! 

The Eastern Bergen County Board of Realtors (EBCBOR), a Sponsor of the 2017 National Rebuilding Day, participated in a community project with Rebuilding Together Bergen County April 29th. Volunteers came together to help paint the rooms in the Brightside Manor in Teaneck, NJ. The EBCBOR team was led by Janet Ginsberg & Hilda Williams, Chair & Co-Chair of the EBCBOR Community Service & Outreach Committee, and Project Coordinators EBCBOR members Arlene Cohn and Lisa Fox.
11 EBCBOR Members Took the First Step Toward Building Their Global Business!

This past Wednesday and Thursday members of EBCBOR successfully completed CIPS Designation classes, and took the first step toward building their global business. The courses were given by EBCBOR's Director and instructor Ali Memar of RE/MAX Select Properties - Fort Lee. REALTOR® Advocacy Month is a celebration designed to engage and educate REALTORS® to Vote, Act and Invest in advocacy. Throughout three weeks in May, the National Association of REALTORS® invites you to use the more than 80 programs, services and grants offered by the REALTOR® Party to demonstrate the importance of advocacy at the national, state and local levels.



CFPB Begins Process to Review the Mortgage Servicing Rule

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau started the process to get industry feedback on the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA) mortgage servicing rule as required under Dodd-Frank. The official request asks the public to comment on the CFPB's plan, to suggest sources of data and generally to provide other information that would help with the assessment.

Congress Proposes to Extend the EB-5 Regional Center Program Through the End of FY 2017

Congress is poised to extend the EB-5 Regional Center Program through Sept. 30, 2017, without any changes. The House Appropriations Committee submitted a proposal on Continuing Appropriations in the early morning of May 1, 2017. Expect the Omnibus Appropriation bill to proceed to House Rules Tuesday, May 2, with a vote on the House floor on Wednesday, May 3.
