Mother's Day is the busiest holiday of the year for the district's flower markets. The LA Flower Market and California Flower Mall will have extended hours starting the week of May 8. The LA Flower Market's hours can be found here. California Flower Mall is expected to open 24 hours on Saturday, May 13 through Sunday, May 14.
"Best Mom Ever" Contest
The
California Flower Mall has announced the launch of the "Best Mom Ever Photo & Video Contest." Participating flower vendors would like to show their appreciation for Moms by awarding daily flower arraignments valued at $50-$80. Two grand prize arraignments of $300-$500 will also be awarded. Contestants can enter, daily, by posting a photo or a video of themselves and a Mom to Facebook and Instagram tagging #CFMMothersDay. Click

The LA Conservancy's signature series, Last Remaining Seats will kick off in the LA Fashion District with a screening of L.A. Confidential at The Orpheum Theatre on Saturday, June. 3. Mermaid on Main
Oakland-based artist,
Hueman recently completed a colorful mural at 828 Main St, title "Mermaid on Main." The mural shows the back of a woman's head, her colorful purple mane flowing behind her. It's the artists largest mural to date and the sixth mural to go up in the Fashion District. See it at 9th and Main Streets.
