American Health Care Act Passes in the House, Battle Moves to the Senate
Unfortunately, the House of Representatives passed the American Health Care Act (AHCA) yesterday with a vote of 217-213. We are grateful to everyone who took the time to call their elected officials and oppose this legislation. As you know, should it become law, this bill would have devastating impacts on people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families living in New Jersey and we were disappointed by yesterday's outcome. However, the fight is far from over and we hope you will continue to support our advocacy as we push back against this bill as it moves to the Senate. The AHCA includes many harmful provisions, including significant cuts to the Medicaid program, and we cannot allow it to go through.

We will keep you updated in the coming days and weeks about the legislation and ways you can help oppose the bill. This will not be an easy task, but with a unified voice we can make a difference.
