Looking Toward the 4th Sunday after Easter May 7, 2017
Scripture: John 10: 1-10
Sermon: The Lord is My Shepherd

John Ryan will preach at 8:30 and 9:45 in Lingle Chapel and at 11:00 in the sanctuary.

The 4th Sunday of Easter is traditionally called "Good Shepherd Sunday" because  the  gospel  reading for the day, which is taken from the  tenth chapter  of  John's Gospel  describes Christ as the "Good  Shepherd " who lays down his life for his sheep. We will pair John 10:1-10 with Psalm 23 to think about what does it mean that Jesus is our Good Shepherd?

The Alleluia Ringers will play When Morning Gilds the Sky and The King of Love My Shepherd Is.

Ten cents a meal offering  will be received at all worship services . Please place your donations in the red baskets. If each family at DCPC contributed 30ยข a day each day for 30 days, that would equal $9 per month.

Journey Fund
Many people point to participating in mission trips, attending camp, and going to conferences such as the Montreat Youth Conference, the Massanetta Middle School Conference, and the Montreat Worship and Music Conference as pivotal in their faith journeys. DCPC wants to make it possible for EVERYONE to participate in these powerful experiences and thus the Session established the Journey Fund several years ago to provide scholarship assistance for mission trips, camps, and conferences.  The Journey Fund receives no funds from the budget and thus is entirely dependent upon contributions over and above your pledges.  Your contribution will be gladly accepted through the DCPC website (CLICK HERE) or by indicating Journey Fund on the memo line of your check.
Annual Spring Picnic
The annual spring picnic  will be held Sunday, June 4 in and outside of our Congregation House after the 11:00 worship service!   Fried chicken and macaroni & cheese will be provided.  Those attending the Spring Picnic are asked to bring a generous side dish and/or dessert to share with our church family!  Side dishes and desserts can be left at the Congregation House before worship.  Tables and chairs will be set up, but families may also want to bring a picnic blanket to use on the lawn outside the CH.
ALL ARE INVITED AND ALL ARE WELCOME!
