St. Michael School is commended for their commitment to the emotional and social growth of students.

The team noted that our community actively embeds the Top 20 Program into the school day.  Students and staff alike were heard utilizing the language and techniques to make our school a better place to learn and grow.  Most impressive to them was the fact that our families are eager to live above the line with our school.  Paul Bernabei contacted me this week to thank me for our community being such a great example of living the Top 20.  He has been contacted by some of our accreditation team members to learn more about it as they just love St. Michael Catholic School's culture.

 

St. Michael Catholic School is committed to standards-based grading.

The team was impressed with the teachers' consistent communication with parents in regards to student progress.  They noted that the 1 ^st - 5 ^th grade teachers are proficient in standards-based grading through the use of rubrics.  The team was pleased with the efforts of the staff's professional development in the areas of creating power standards, aligning standards and teaching to the standards.  They highly support our efforts to expand the use of standards at all grade levels and subject areas.
