Art Wars continues this week!
Valley Christian High School is excited to introduce a new community service opportunity: Art Wars - Creating Art to Support a Cause.

This fundraising project is a response to the Human Trafficking Awareness Chapels. It is a way for our community to reflect on and react to the suffering of our brothers and sisters in Christ.

High School students and faculty have created an original work of art inspired by the theme/idea of "Hope."

Contemporary Jewish Museum Field Trip
The sophomores enjoyed an interdisciplinary field trip to the Contemporary Jewish Museum in San Francisco last Friday, April 28th. The overarching themes of our field trip were: how do we remember the past and are graphic novels an appropriate representation of history?  Students explored these concepts beforehand in their Bible, History, and English classes.

During our field trip, students embarked on a docent-led tour of the museum's current exhibit featuring cartoons from Jewish artist Roz Chast. Students viewed Chast's covers for the New Yorker as well as her memoir,   Can't We Talk About Something More Pleasant?  Students compared this memoir with the graphic novel  Maus by Art Spiegelman (a previous class assignment.)
