Your tax dollars at work: A weekly update on bond/override/construction activity at SUSD schools. Check out what we're up to this week.

Scottsdale Unified School District | Bond Update 5/5/17

Thank you for signing up for weekly updates on bond & override projects within SUSD. We are committed to transparency through this process, and we welcome your feedback. Like you, we can't wait to see our new schools go up and our existing schools improve.
WEEKLY PROGRESS

On Thursday, May 4, The Governing Board selected contractors for the rebuild of Hohokam and the new additions to Cheyenne.

On Wednesday, May 3, contractors, selected by the Governing Board for the Hopi rebuild, attended a weekly committee meeting to listen in on the ongoing design conversations committee members are having with the architectural team. Now that a full team is in place, there is an updated, tentative construction timeline:

* Early July - shovels in the ground, fences up
* August - vertical construction begins
* 2018 - new buildings open to students

RUMOR OF THE WEEK ( or: Myth Busting)

Based on the excellent feedback provided through the form on bond.susd.org, there is a rumor that design plans for Hopi Elementary have already been submitted to the city. This is FALSE. No designs for any SUSD school rebuilds have been submitted to the city, because no designs are final yet. If you hear rumors that concern you, we encourage you to let us know through our online form. Rumors concern us too! We'd love to set the record straight whenever possible.
Thank you for your dedication to our Scottsdale students and schools!
