Folsom Police Host BBQ "Meat" and Greet May 6
Join us on Saturday, May 6 for a community barbecue hosted by the Folsom Police Foundation and the Folsom Police Officers Association. It's an opportunity to get-to-know local police officers, watch K9 demonstrations, and meet horses of the mounted unit while raising funds for local youth programs. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children age 5 to 17, and children under 5 are free. This third annual event will be held at Folsom City Lions Park from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the event.

Walk or Run to Celebrate Family and Fitness

Folsom's Run with Nature
This year marks more great "firsts" for the 34th annual fitness event - including a new location, and new run and walk courses. What haven't changed are the elements that make this event a favorite annual tradition for so many people: beautiful views, natural scenery, and a family-friendly format. The races take place along the Humbug-Willow Creek Trail system, on paved trails surrounded by acres of open space and wetlands. Course options include a 5.8-mile fitness walk, 5.8K and 13K chip-timed runs, and a youth half-mile fun run (contained within Cummings Family Park where the other events start and finish).  Registered 5.8K and 13K participants receive a commemorative finisher's medal and T-shirt; the top male and female run finishers will each receive a special prize. Youth fun run participants receive a T-shirt and a raffle ticket. Learn more and register.

Love My Mom 5K
Honor and celebrate moms at this third annual event on Saturday, May 13. The 5K course - 3.1 miles - is flat and closed to traffic, making it an ideal route for runners, walkers and stroller striders. New this year is a half-mile fun run for kids ages 10 and under. The races start and finish at Whole Foods at the Palladio. All registered 5K participants will receive a custom dry-fit T-shirt and special finisher's medal to commemorate their effort; registered youth half-mile runners receive a T-shirt. Learn more and register today!
