Healthy Snack Program
Our produce-based snack program is a completely waste free program. Seven years ago when we made the move to a produce-based snack, we had both nutrition and waste in mind:
- produce is purchased in bulk and is delivered in cardboard boxes, which we recycle.
- occasional produce (strawberries, baby tomatoes, celery, cauliflower, raisins) arrive in clam shells or plastic, which also get recycled.
- only organic produce is purchased (so no pesticides, herbicide, fungicides), and some of our produce is grown biodynamically.
- almost all of our produce is grown locally (within 150 miles, bananas the exception), cutting down on fossil fuels.
- the plastic bins we have re-used since day one of the program.
- leftovers are taken home by families or are composted.
A HUGE thank you to the PTA, teachers, staff, and families for supporting our very sustainable snack program. Alison eastwood - Snack@miralomasf.com |

Thank You Spring Festival Volunteers and Attendees |
Dear Miraloma community,
We are so pleased to have chaired another fabulous Spring Festival. This celebration of our community wouldn't be possible without the many families, from incoming kindergarteners to alumni, who pitched in. We are proud to be a part of such a group. Thank you to the over 60 volunteers who baked, hauled, cleaned, drilled, ran games, and everything else in between. Special thanks to Harini, whose family is brand new to Miraloma and who took on the bake sale, and to the fantastic dads Juan, Leo, and Dirk for their mastery of the Dads' Grill. Sadie, you did a great job running everything smoothly. Thank you!
As always, thanks to D.J. Noah for all his support of our wonderful school!
Warmly, Ramona & Ryan - SpringFest@miralomasf.com
