Trinity Tidbits-Week of Easter 3

TOTH logo
Easter Day has come and gone, but Easter isn't over! And you all know this, that Easter lasts 50 days.
But, what is going to make this Easter season new to you? What is God calling you to do during these 50 days?
If we let it, Easter can come and go just like any other celebration.  But it doesn't have to be like that.  It can indeed be something special.  And it all begins with opening yourself up to the New Life given to us in the Resurrection, given to us each day that we ask for the power of Christ to flood our lives.
What is God calling you to do?

     Peace,
     Chris
TOTH WOMEN'S RETREAT April 28 & 29 in Kelly Hall

I am leading a woman's retreat at Trinity on the Hill in Kelly Hall, April 28 and April 29. The retreat is 6:30-9 pm on Fri and 10-2:30 on Sat.

The topic is learning through scripture and the voice of the Holy Spirit who God really created us to be, our true destiny/purpose in Christ, and how to let Christ in to heal our emotions and inner wounds.  The cost is free, except I may ask for a donation just to cover printing costs for Trinity on the Hill.

Thanks, Alicia Pope

DO YOU WANT TO BE A BLESSING?
TOTH offers Outreach Opportunities

TOTH has scheduled a forum to identify needs in the community that our congregation might address. You are invited to participate THIS Sunday, April 30 at 12:15 in Kelly Hall. At this forum, you can also learn about the programs the parish already operates and supports, from Shop on the Corner to Trinity Builders to the Children's Bazaar. Now that we are filled with the Holy Spirit, let us join in blessing the lives of others--in our community and around the world--as we demonstrate God's love by giving of our time and talents.

The annual Youth Choir Pasta lunch and silent auction will be on Sunday May 7th, after the 10:30 am service. Tickets will be on sale on Sunday 30 April after the 8 am and 10:30 am services, or on the door on the day. (This day is when we celebrate St. Athanasius.)
TOTH ELDERS TO MEET
MAY 22 AT 10:30 IN SHERRILL HALL

The TotH Elders Group will observe the first anniversary of its founding with its first Annual Meeting on Monday,  May 22, at 10:30 in Sherrill Hall.  Visitors are welcome, as always, to join us for snacks and a discussion of the types of programs and activities that we would like to have for the coming year.  This will be a time for all Elders (i.e. adults who don't have to work on Mondays) to share their views on topics of common interest.  But just in case things get too serious, something called "When the Loaves and Fishes Meet the Chinese Junk" is also on the agenda.
Camp Stoney Summer Camp is coming!

Reminder that the Camp's web site is open for reservations for this summer's camping season.  Go to www.bishopsridge.org and click on "Camp Stoney" for all the information.

The Northeast Deanery's Narnia Camp is July 16-22, but all the other camps sound like great Christian fun, too, and in such a beautiful setting!

Have you ever attended Camp Stoney?
        Did you love your counselor?
Ever think, "Can I be a counselor?"
Ever think, "That was yummy! I want to cook at camp"?
If you answered "yes" to any of these questions,
                                Then
Now is the time to act on it!

                Camp Stoney needs Staff!
Paid Counselors and Cooks need to be 19 years of age or older.
Junior counselors must be 16 years of age or older and are volunteer staff.
                These are fun summer positions!

DIOCESE OF THE RIO GRANDE

St. Mark the Evangelist [April 25]
Almighty God, by the hand of Mark the evangelist you have given to your Church the Gospel of Jesus Christ the Son of God: We thank you for this witness, and pray that we may be firmly grounded in its truth; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

NMCC names new director
ALBUQUERQUE - The Reverend Susan Joan Quass has been named Executive Director of the New Mexico Conference of Churches (NMCC) by the conference's Governing Board. Rev. Quass assumed this new role on April 1, 2017.
Rev. Quass' background uniquely positions her to assume the post as NMCC's fifth Executive Director. With significant experience in social justice ministries, advocacy, congregational life and nonprofit management Quass will advance the Conference's work of promoting Christian unity, and striving for justice, peace and the integrity of creation across the state.
Quass has a Masters of Divinity from Wesley Theological Seminary, Washington DC, and was ordained as a Minister of the Presbyterian Church USA on Palm Sunday in 2008 by the Presbytery of Baltimore. She is currently a member of the Presbytery of Santa Fe and serves on the Commission on Ministry. Quass holds a Certificate in Interim Ministry, and has training in hospice care and multicultural ministry.
During the past decade, Quass has served as Co-director of the ecumenical Wellspring Conference Center in Germantown, Maryland; worked with The CENTER of the Presbytery of Baltimore offering transformative mission experiences for youth and adults; and also served as Interim Pastor in West Virginia and Maryland. Prior to that time her commitment to Jesus Christ and her love of people and the environment led her to volunteer in social justice mission with the Nuclear Free and Independent Pacific Movement in Micronesia and with refugees in Songkhla, Thailand

THE BISHOP SEARCH COMMITTEE NEEDS YOU!
Part of calling the right bishop for the Diocese of the Rio Grande is to be able to tell candidates who we are and what we expect from a bishop. We need to know what you think the DRG is doing well, what we could do better, and what direction you think a new bishop take the diocese.

Northeast Deanery - Saturday, May 6 - 10:00
a.m.
St. Bede's, Santa Fe, NM
Moderators: The Rev. Catherine Volland and Heather Liebman

We are eager to hear from all interested parishioners your ideas in this regard. Please come to one of the Town Fall Focus Groups listed below so we can collect your thoughts.

We will publish a survey in late May asking specific questions from the members of the diocese. But, before we finalize that survey we need your input on the questions for the survey. Our goal is to get input from everyone, either face to face or electronically. Please do your best to attend one of the Town Hall Focus Groups sessions listed below so you can give us the guidance we need.

We are also excited to tell you about our upcoming "Rhapsody" concerts, which will be on May 19 in Santa Fe and May 20 and 21 in Los Alamos. The program features works by Faure, Dvorak, and Brahms, and highlights the talents of our pianist, Nathan Salazar, along with a guest string quartet.  Dr. Nelly Case will present pre-concert lectures 30 minutes prior to the May 20 and 21 performances.  For more information about the concerts, please visit our website:
