CANTO and Huawei to Co-host Stakeholder Invitational in Panama
CANTO and Huawei will co-host a Stakeholder Invitational in Panama on May 12th, 2017 at the Hard Rock Hotel in Panama. The event will be held on the heels of the 134th Board of Directors meeting.
The Stakeholder Invitational will address persons in the telecom/ICT sector in Panama and will focus on an overview of CANTO; its activities in Latin America and the Caribbean; the CANTO - Huawei partnership and opportunities for ICT stakeholders.

he CANTO Chairman, Julian Wilkins spoke at the Forum Internet of Things (IoT): Smarter Living in the Caribbean. This ITU workshop was held from 24 to 26 April.
The event was co-organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in partnership with the Government of Trinidad and Tobago, Telecommunications Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (TATT), the UWI St. Augustine Campus and the Caribbean Telecommunication Union (CTU).
The Chairman was a panelist at the session entitled: IoT Security and Privacy, Policy, Legislation, Regulation and Infrastructure.

Jaime Briceno Chairman Board of Directors SMART, Ernesto Torres CEO, Sean Duncan HOD Data Warehousing, Reporting and Billing, Juan Pablo Lorenzetti IT Operations Manager and Leonardo Calle Director of Network Services at the SMART Headquarters in Belize City, Belize.
Discussions were held on the upcoming CANTO conference, the Code of Practice for safeguarding the open Internet; the CANTO working committees and the work of the CICC working committees. CANTO was also given a tour of the SMART facilities.Read More

CANTO CSR Chair Invites Members to be Agents of Change
 In
March 2017, I was selected to become Chairman of the CANTO CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) Committee. I am humbled by the appointment and look forward to doing work that drives CSR in CANTO and throughout the region.
Having some considerable experience as a Public Relations practitioner CSR is my "VALHALLA" It is a place I hope to reach, a mythical place, and my journey to that place will continue as I work with CANTO and within this region.
In my experiences however, I feel relatively comfortable stating that a lot of Public Relations passes as C.S.R and affords organizations the opportunity to call themselves good corporate citizens. I am not vexed but saddened by same and feel called to a higher place, the place where I want C.S.R to mean something (to you), something different, to all the members of CANTO.
