Read4Funds is tallying our total reading minutes and donations. As soon as we know the final numbers, we will share it with the whole school! Thanks again for your support!

Parent Survey
. The
WCA School Accountability Committee (SAC) is getting ready to roll out the Spring Parent Survey! In the next few days, your child's homeroom teacher will email you a link to the survey. If you do not receive the link by May 2, please email the SAC.
Thank you for taking the time to help make our school the best that it can be! A little added incentive this time around...if we have at least 75% participation, the ENTIRE school will get a free dress day!
Please note that there should only be one survey completed per family.

Career Day. We are excited to offer our first ever Career Day on Wednesday, May 3 during
the school day. All students at WCA will circulate through our career fair volunteers and learn about careers in science, engineering, health, technology, emergency services, transportation,
and business.
Science Fair. Mark your calendars for our Science Fair on Tuesday, May 9 from 6:30 - 8pm!

Child Human Trafficking. One of our amazing teachers, Mrs. Henman, is involved in an organization called Love146.
Love 146 i
s an international human rights organization working to end child trafficking and exploitation through prevention education and caring for survivors. There is an event coming up called "Hope is Brewing" on May 18 at Factotum Brewhouse.
If you are interested in attending or sponsoring, please see the flyer for the different levels of sponsorship, or go here for more information.
Also, there is a parent information session, "Human Trafficking in Douglas County", on June 7 at the Philip S. Miller Library in Castle Rock from 6:30-8:30pm. Please email Mrs. Henman if you have any questions or need additional information.

World Compass Academy is hosting an amazing "adults only" Trivia Night at Kirk Hall on
Saturday, May 6 from 6:00pm to 9:30pm. We have an awesome host being flown in for the event to ensure that we all have a GREAT time! There will be door prizes and food trucks, a bartender and FUN! $25 gets you in the door! There are only 260 tickets available (130 couples), so don't wait! PTO Spirit Nights
. There will be two Spirit Nights in the month of May: Papa John's on May 3 (please remember to bring this flyer), and Mad Greens on May 10 from 4-8:30pm. May 10 will be a Spirit Wear Day!
Teacher Appreciation Week...May 1 - 5! It is hard to believe that the end of the school year is right around the corner, which means Teacher Appreciation Week has just about arrived! This year, the PTO has planned fun treats and small gifts to show our teachers and staff how much we love them because "WCA STUDENTS ARE HAPPY CAMPERS" thanks to their hard work and dedication each and every single day of the week.
From May 1 - May 5, the entrance of the building will be transformed into an outdoor camping experience. In addition to what PTO will be doing, we encourage students to show their teachers just how much they appreciate them as well. We first ask that each student help us to build a "Kindness Campfire." This information, with an attached piece of construction paper, was sent home yesterday with your student. Please have your child return their handprint to the box in the front office now through May 5.
Here are a few additional ideas you may also consider doing, but please feel free to do as you wish. We know the teachers will be so grateful!
- Sign up here to donate an item for the luncheon on Friday, May 5.
- A flower for the teacher.
- A gift card for a cup of coffee, Target, restaurant, etc.
- A poem written for the teacher by your child.
- A thank you card for the teacher.
- A candle, lotion, lip balm, etc.
- Candy, gum or mints.
Thank you so much for your continued support through the 2016-2017 school year. Although we are blessed to have wonderful teachers, our school is also blessed with a wonderful community
