CryptoClub Curriculum and Training
The Pacific Northwest Girls Collaborative Project has been chosen to be part of the CryptoClub Network, a national afterschool project and online program that covers cryptography (secret codes and ciphers) and math. Two PNWGCP Leadership Team Members have been trained and will soon be teaching the curriculum to afterschool program leaders.
What is CryptoClub?
The CryptoClub Project is a mathematics and cryptography curriculum developed at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
CryptoClub activities includ
e games, treasure hunts, and puzzles that engage students in learning cryptography and applying middle-school mathematics.
How can you help young people access these high-quality activities?
We are looking for individuals or corporate sponsors who can support this program. Contribute a tax deductible donation to support the following activities:
- $100 will support an afterschool educator's travel expenses
- $200 will buy CryptoClub curriculum materials for an afterschool program
- $1,000 will sponsor the training expenses for the CryptoClub Leader Training
- $5,000 will support the training and the curriculum materials for up to 20 programs

Washington Women in Trades Career Fair

Meet
Caroline Appleyard
. She
grew up with a passion for reading and learning how things worked. She currently oversees professional development workshops, research seminars, laboratory training experiences, mentoring teams and program evaluation, as Program Director for a graduate training program and the Co-Leader of the Training/Career Development Core at Moffitt Cancer Center. She balances nurturing her young family with work and hobbies such as: scuba-diving, running and skiing. She looks forward to offering advice to young girls considering a career in STEM.
