Principal's Message
Parents,
There is so much excitement going on at school right now and we could use your help in keeping things calm and safe here at Murwood. First, on time arrival and postponement of trips and appointments until after school concludes helps keep everyone current, especially during testing. Fourth grade is halfway done and fifth grade is up next. We also ask that you ask your child to tell you the safety rules on the playground to make sure they are focusing in on safe play. It is our goal to finish the year without injury, but we need everyone's help to make that happen.
Please join us Friday Night for our Spring Sing. Bring a picnic and enjoy the evening of entertainment with our students under the direction of Mr. Ron Jones. Concert starts at 6:30. You may come earlier to picnic and visit.
Finally, there is still time to check out library books. I highly recommend the new biography Some Writer, the Story of E.B. White, by Melissa Sweet. This engaging graphic novel is full of interesting facts about the author of Charlotte's Web, how that story, and his other titles Stuart Little and Trumpet of the Swan, came to be. We are so very fortunate to have Mrs. Durflinger who is always on the lookout for great books for us. What I love most is when the new boxes come in and I get to grab a few to read and recommend to the kids. If you love biographies and are an aspiring writer, this book is for you!

From the PTA President
This Friday is our Annual Spring Sing and Picnic! This is such an awesome event that is managed by our very own music teacher, Mr. Jones. This is a great opportunity to come out on an evening in the Spring to enjoy a picnic dinner and the sweet sounds of our children! I hope to see you all there!
You still have time to purchase your Taste & Toast to Education sponsored by WCEF. This is a fun way to support WCEF, who provides so many wonderful programs for our children. Taste & Toast is on Wednesday, May 10th. You can purchase your coupon book online for $30 at WCEF website.
