Snapshot: South View students heard the story of the many unknown black American women who were vital contributors to NASA's role in the space race from Duchess Harris, author of Hidden Human Computers: The Black Women of NASA. Harris' grandmother was one of those women.

EHS improves U.S. News & World Report ranking in state
U.S. News & World Report has ranked Edina High School fourth in Minnesota in their 2017 “Best High Schools” list, up three places from its statewide ranking last year. EHS was also awarded Gold Medal status as one of the top 500 schools in the nation, based on college readiness of its students. Read more
South View Academic Triathlon team is state champ
A team of five seventh graders from South View Middle School won first place at the 2017 Minnesota U.S. Academic Triathlon State Tournament. The team consists of members Peter Mans, Cordelia Fleming, Ian Katan, Maren Fullerton, and Aman Nath. Read more
City recognizes EPS students, volunteer
Four EHS students and a long-time classroom volunteer were honored at the City of Edina’s annual Volunteer Recognition Reception held at Braemar Golf Club earlier this month.  Read more
Supt. Dressen honored at retirement event
Performances by the EHS Marching Band and choir were two of the surprises for retiring Superintendent Ric Dressen at an open house in his honor May 3. An appearance by a Mystery Hornet turned out to be incoming superintendent, Dr. John Schultz. Students reflect on Bdote seminar at Fort Snelling
Two EHS students offer their insights following the Bdote Seminar at Fort Snelling State Park. The seminar, part of the Pre-AP English 10 class, featured a Native American poet and a Dakota language teacher. The seminar includes classroom discussions and walks in the state park. Read more

May 1 Special Meeting/Work Session highlights
At its special meeting/work session on May 1, the Edina School Board:
  • Accepted bid for districtwide security technology, which came in under budget
  • Discussed next steps for study of school start and end times
  • Discussed plans for the November 2017 operating levy

The next regular meeting of the School Board is May 15, 2017 at 7 p.m. in the Edina Community Center, Room 349.

A complete agenda and meeting materials will be available online by 5 p.m. on the Friday prior to a regularly scheduled (Monday) meeting. Watch video of past School Board regular meetings on the district website.

Students throughout the district have the opportunity to learn how writers are inspired and how they bring their books to life when authors visit school media centers throughout the school year.
