Stallions in the Spotlight

The St. Vincent DePaul club traveled to Mifflin Elementary School to meet with children in the St. Stephen's after school program.  Club members provided an Easter egg hunt, games, crafts, and some sweet snacks for the party.  Jellybean bingo is one of the popular games played at the Easter Party (pictured).

Madelyn Giersz won 3rd place in the High School division of the Stock Market Challenge in the Ashland University region! This region serves 23 counties .   Madelyn grew her portfolio 12.7 % over a 10 week period. Madelyn will be awarded a $50.00 by Ashland University and Mr. Montenaro, as her instructor/advisor, will receive a $50.00 gift card.



Last Friday, our Italian IV/IV AP classes visited with Franco Iaderosa from the NOI Foundation/Italian Embassy in Detroit and Sandro Corso, the Education Director from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from Italy. The NOI Foundation has supported the students of DeSales for the past 3 years, specifically providing reimbursement funds to those students who take the Italian Advanced Placement exam.

Senior Parent Reminder: Scholarship Notices

If your senior has received a scholarship(s) from a college/university, please have your student bring in the information to their Guidance Counselor even if your child is not attending that particular university. These scholarships will be noted under your child's name in the Graduation program and used for school statistical purposes.  Thank you.

Summer Camps at SFD

SFD Dance Clinics and Tryouts

Mother-Daughter Yoga Class

All those interested in joining us for a Mother-Daughter Yoga class on Tuesday, May 16 from 3:30pm to 4:30pm, can sign up to attend this class for a $15 per person fee. Proceeds collected support the SFD Yoga Club. RSVP to Karen Scott at scott@desales.co. Payments can be made that afternoon. 
Becoming an IPERC Host Family

We have an exciting opportunity for our DeSales families. Our school has partnered with the International Partnership of Education Research and Communication Foundation (IPERC) to expand our interactions with students and educators from China, to help share the cultures of our respective countries and to truly develop global learners at our school. Through this partnership, we are enrolling students to be a part of the DeSales community for the 2017-18 academic year. We are currently looking for great families who will welcome these students into their home during this time.
