The constant need for platelet donors is especially crucial because platelets have a shelf life of only five days compared to whole blood donations which can be transfused for up to 42 days. Platelets are routinely used in cancer therapies, open-heart surgery, organ transplants and to treat blood disorders. Donors are encouraged to make appointments online  or by calling 303.363.2300.
