New Deerfoot Interchange

Good news for southeast Calgary residents as well as for Calgarians that are looking for employment. The recent announcement by the province to proceed with the new interchange at Deerfoot Trail and 212 Avenue SE will provide a new access point for Cranston, Seton and the brand new community known as Rangeview.

The development will be built as the product of partnership between the province, the City of Calgary and Brookfield Residential.

Construction of the project, that will cost about $40M, will support approximately 25,000 jobs that include positions to develop the surrounding communities.

Construction is expected to begin this summer and should wrap up by the winter of 2018.

Neighbour Day is June 17

Celebrate Calgary's fourth annual Neighbour Day!

Held on the third Saturday of June, Neighbour Day is a time for Calgarians to celebrate our neighbourliness and strong community spirit by organizing community events such as front yard barbecues, garden parties, picnics, clean-ups or afternoon teas in a local park.

The City is waiving the fee for block party permits and green space bookings, however you still need to apply and have your event approved by May 26, 2017. Here is a link for more information.
