6th Annual Native Youth Summit

The 6th Annual Native Youth Summit is open to 40 youth and is a four-day powerful leadership development experience that connects, challenges, and cultivates a cohort of Native youth ranging in age from 12 to 18 years old from across the state of New Mexico. Our theme for the summit is "We Are the Movement" and it will focus on land and resiliency, community love, movement building and community organizing on a youth level in our tribal communities.

This application MUST BE completed by the youth interested in applying for the Native Youth Summit and NOT by a parent or guardian on behalf of the applicant.

Selections for the summit will be based on answers provided in the essay questions and based on involvement in one's community.

Each Native Youth Summit application will be internally reviewed and 40 youth will be selected by June 8, 2017.  Beginning June 8, 2017, CSVANW will begin notifying applicants about acceptance and to finalize the application process for the summit. The selected individuals will receive three nights of paid lodging and all meals during the four-day event. Event supplies, t-shirt, a travel stipend and backpack will be provided.

The Native Youth Summit is partially funded by the following grants and contracts: Department of Justice Office on Violence Against Women 2016-1W-AX-0017; Native Americans in Philanthropy #GenIndigenous Response Fund; New Mexico Indian Affairs Department contract 17-609-3000-PSC13; Verizon Wireless HopeLine; and the New Mexico Coalition of Sexual Assault Programs.
