I hope you are enjoying the sunshine as much as I am, amazing what a little sun will do for the soul.
I had the pleasure of working with 6th and 7th grade students yesterday afternoon as they presented their bridges to see how much weight they could withstand.
I am delighted with the leadership among the students and the excitement happening in the classroom.
We will have openings on our School Advisory Council starting in the fall. If you are interested in joining the School Advisory Council please attend our meeting TONIGHT at 6pm in the Teachers Lounge. The purpose of the council is to help assist and guide the principal with the advancement, education programs, strategic planning, and technology decisions for the school.
The teachers are enjoying the week of treats during Teacher/Staff Appreciate Week. Thank you for your support and to the Gast Family for organizing this.
Have a wonderful rest of your week,
God bless,
Ms. Morri
Kindergarten Students visit The Works
Kindergarten had a fantastic time exploring at their Works field trip. We used hands on science to build and race cars, navigate a light sensor maze and construct kaleidoscopes that we took home. Some of our favorite things were the foam bricks use to build houses and the K'nex roller coaster that took a college student 4 months to assemble!
-Attention 7th Grade Parents-
8th Grade Graduation is right around the corner, are you interested in helping out with the Graduation Reception? Darlene Krieger has graciously accepted the role of chairing this event. If you can help, please contact her at
dlkrieger@yahoo.com. Thank you!
A Special Visitor in Kindergarten
Ms. Fiedler's brother, Officer Josh Fiedler, stopped by kindergarten to answer some questions about what police officers do to help the community. We started the visit by reading a book that talks about all the different parts of a police officers job, including going to school.
We talked about the different tools he has and how he uses them to help people and how he has to work with other police officers in the community. For a follow up assignment we will write about what we would do if we were a police officer and how we would keep people safe. It was a great visit and we learned a lot and had fun!
Reading/Math Classes Offered
It's important to schedule reading and math practice in the summer to prevent summer loss. Research shows that most young people experience this learning loss when they do not engage in educational activities during the summer months. To keep your child refreshed in academic basics, enroll them in summer reading and math classes at St. Stephen's School with Mrs. Tyminski and Mrs. Lysdahl. We will offer one hour classes each in reading and math, grouped according to grades: Kindergarten; 1st-2nd Grades; and 3rd - 5th grade. The classes will be held on Tuesdays in June and July. For further information please contact either:
We will be having a "Move Ahead Day" on May 23rd from 8-10am where each grade will have a chance to try out the next grade level (for example, 2nd grade will move up to 3rd grade). We will be inviting all our new Kindergarten students into our school to learn about becoming a student in St. Stephen's Kindergarten. We are excited for our students to prepare for the upcoming school year!
